This honor is bestowed upon individuals each year by the Governor of Kentucky for their outstanding accomplishments and good will in promoting the music and ambassadorship. Recipients have received this honor world wide.

Eric is part an elite group of people who have received this honor including, formor Prime Minister, Winston Churchhill, John Glen, (the astronaut), Harlin Sanders, Kentucky Fried Chicken, golfer Tiger Woods, and comediens, Jeff Foxworthy and Whoopie Goldburg, singer Dwight Yoakam, boxer Muhammad Ali
